This piece shows the unique pottery technique that combines traditional raku firing with the striking visual effects of horse hair. When the glowing hot vase was removed from the kiln, strands of horse hair were strategically placed on its surface. The intense heat caused the hair to carbonize, leaving unique patterns and markings on the surface and creating dramatic and unpredictable designs. This piece is for decorative use only and is not designed to hold water. It is beautiful as a stand-alone piece or with dried flowers. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, each piece is unique, and there may be small imperfections. The neutral tone of this piece brings a sense of tranquility to any room. It is signed by the artist and includes the artist’s traditional bee stamp.
